

ANDREAS KRIEGENBURG
He was born in Magdeburg and initially trained as a carpenter. From 1982 he worked at the theatre as a carpenter, later as an assistant director. First direction in 1984 at the age of 21. Since then continuous directing work in theatre in various cities in Europe, such as Berlin, Vienna, Hamburg, Zurich, Frankfurt/Main and others.
Many of his works have been shown in different cities around the world, such as Madrid, Warsaw, Moscow, Seoul, Taipei, México-City, Rio de Janeiro, Bogota, São Paulo, Prague, Istanbul and many others. Since 2006 continuous work at various opera houses around the world, such as Staatsoper München (Wozzeck, Ring des Nibelungen, Soldaten, Schneekönigin UA), Oper Tokyo (Wozzeck, Rigoletto), Salzburg (Lady Macbeth de Mtsensk, Simon Boccanegra) Oper Frankfurt/Main (Tosca), Semperoper Dresden (Cosi fan tutte , Don Giovanni) Oper Barcelona (Othello) and Staatsoper Hamburg (Frau ohne Schatten).
Andreas Kriegenburg has received numerous awards for his work in Germany and Austria and his production of "Die Soldaten" by Alois Zimmermann was named production of the year.
